Terms of Use

These terms are the rules for using Ghost Road. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. The short version: play fair, don’t attack the service, and enjoy the ride.

1. Acceptance of terms

By signing in to or playing Ghost Road, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use Ghost Road.

If you are under the age at which you can enter into an agreement like this where you live, a parent or guardian should review these terms and agree to them on your behalf.

2. Description of Ghost Road

Ghost Road is a free, side-scrolling motorcycle game played in a web browser. You ride through a dark landscape, balance your bike over rough terrain, jump gaps and avoid obstacles for as long as you can survive. Anyone can view the home page. You need to sign in with Google to ride.

3. Account and Google Sign-In

  • Ghost Road accounts are created and accessed only through Google Sign-In. Your use of your Google account is also subject to Google’s terms.
  • New players are asked for their profession and date of birth once, when their account is created. Please give accurate information.
  • One account belongs to one person. Keep your Google account secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
  • You can sign out at any time from the home screen. To delete your account, follow the steps in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your responsibilities

When using Ghost Road, you agree to:

  • follow these terms and all laws that apply to you;
  • give accurate information when you create your account;
  • use the game only for personal entertainment; and
  • treat the service, and anyone you share it with, with respect.

5. Game rules and fair play

Ghost Road is meant to be a fair test of riding skill. The rules are simple:

  • No cheating. Don’t use cheats, trainers, modified game files, or scripts or tools that change how the game plays or what it reports.
  • No exploiting bugs on purpose. If you find a bug or glitch that gives an unfair advantage or breaks the game, please tell us instead of using it.
  • No bots. Don’t use automated programs or traffic that play for you or disrupt the service.
  • Play as yourself. Don’t pretend to be someone else.

6. Prohibited activities

You must not:

  • attack, overload, flood or otherwise abuse the Ghost Road servers, network or infrastructure (including denial-of-service attacks);
  • send automated traffic, scraping or bots intended to disrupt, overload or unfairly use the service;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to any account, server, database or system, or probe, scan or test the service for vulnerabilities without our permission;
  • upload, send or spread malware or any other malicious code, or interfere with other players’ use of the game;
  • impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or connection with anyone;
  • get around, disable or interfere with security features or the sign-in system; or
  • use Ghost Road for anything unlawful, or to help anyone else break the law or these terms.

If you think you have found a security problem, please report it to us privately at the contact address below. Please don’t use it or publish it.

7. Intellectual property

Ghost Road, including its name, game design, code, artwork, animation, sound and music, belongs to us or to our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to play the game in your browser for your own non-commercial entertainment, as long as you follow these terms.

You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sell, rent or build other products from Ghost Road or its assets, except where the law expressly allows it. You are welcome to share links to the game and your own screenshots or videos of your rides for non-commercial purposes.

8. Third-party services

Ghost Road relies on services from other companies. These include Google Sign-In for accounts and, when you choose to share, WhatsApp, Facebook and Telegram. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and they are responsible for their own services. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that Ghost Road links to.

9. Advertising

Ghost Road does not currently show advertisements. We may show third-party advertisements in the future to support the game. If we do, we will update these terms and our Privacy Policy first. We are not responsible for the products or services of advertisers.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep Ghost Road available and running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of interruptions or errors. We may change, update, add or remove features, gameplay or content, or pause or stop the service. We may do this for maintenance, security, legal or other reasons, sometimes without notice. Your best distance is stored in your browser, and we cannot guarantee it will be kept.

11. Disclaimer

Ghost Road is a free game provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the game will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

Ghost Road is entertainment and is not a simulation of real-world riding. Nothing in the game is advice about real motorcycles or road safety.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, progress, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Ghost Road. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or, where applicable, for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account, or restrict access to Ghost Road, if we reasonably believe it has been used to break these terms, to harm the service or other people, or where the law requires it. Where appropriate and allowed, we will try to tell you why.

You can stop using Ghost Road at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site before it takes effect. If you continue to use Ghost Road after an update, you accept the updated terms.
